75mm Sherman in RAF
The 75mm Sherman in RAF doc is heavily overshadowed by the Cromwell tank.
Something we don't really see in RE & RA docs due to Tulips & HE mode.
75mm Sherman can be improved for RAF doc in various ways:
1- Gaining access to HEAT rounds and\or Phosphorous stunning rounds.
OR
2- Access to Tulip rockets.
OR
3- Rapid Firing ability.
OR
4- Static Position mode (+10 range & higher RoF)
Whichever is the best, my personal favourite would be the 1st & 2nd.

Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
Rapid fire ore static mode wouldnt do much since it has no HE mode.
The 75mm gun istn potent against anything bigger as a P4 F2.
I would like the tulips best, HEAT rounds didnt exist for the 75mm gun. HEAT is also way to powerful displayed in BK as it really was. As for gameplay i wouldnt like it aswell, since the HEAT will turn the 75mm into a P4 killing machine.
Tulips are the way to go with a limitation of 1 or maybe 2.

Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
HEAT rounds in-game don't exactly resemble what HEAT round realistically are.. but they are just an ability that gives you guaranteed penetration & reasonable damage at shorter range... We can call it "HEAT" or "Target Weak Spot" or "Special Aim" or anything really.. but as an ability, it functions well in game.
Personally i'd be fine with both.. either HEAT or Tulips (limit of 2).

Against HEAT for reasons mentioned by consti.
Tulips seem ok to me

Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
i dont like a guranteed pen on a tank which is not a tank destroyer or heavy tank.
Its also not that cool since you gonna shoot and right after use HEAT or whatever and win the engagement against a PIV or anything else medium almost guarnteed, which shouldnt possible for a tank that fullfills the same role as its axis counterpart on same tier. Guaranteed shots also means more possible 5% ammo crits.
Tulips are fine and would be a cool addition.

So, back to this topic.. then ya; Tulips sound like the most appealing option.

Maybe air-dropped Churchills with Parachute?

Churchill should have hull mounted piat launchers think 3 should suffice?

Tulip are super annoying to go up against if you dont have vision. Maybe if it's limited to one?

Tulips range was reduced to 75 only, it will be fine.Redgaarden wrote: ↑07 Jan 2022, 16:10Tulip are super annoying to go up against if you dont have vision. Maybe if it's limited to one?
Though, i don't mind.. either limit of 2 same as in RE doc, or limit of just one.

Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
Why are we adding tulips again? I cant' remember what they were used for. Do they slaughter infantry? what does it do to emplacements. And I know they fuck up pz4s is that why we're doing this?
Sherman has better armor than cromwell. isn't that what you guys like so much?

Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
Mainly, the core reason is to make the 75mm Sherman more valuable.. as it's left out compared to other CW docs where u get HE mode (in RA) & 2 Tulips (in RE) while being completely over-shadowed by the Cromwell in RAF doctrine with little to no use.Redgaarden wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 15:47Why are we adding tulips again? Another reason is to allow RAF doc to have something to use offensively vs Axis (whether it be inf, tanks or some minor defense) when your airstrikes are locked down by AA everywhere.
Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
royal engineers dont even need tulips......95 churchill does the job.Krieger Blitzer wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 16:11Mainly, the core reason is to make the 75mm Sherman more valuable
i think tulips should be removed from royal engineers and given to royal air force.

Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
Unsure what should/will be achieved by this, honestly saying.
What specifically RAF is lacking now?
Arty support for the breakthtrough and giving on AA's?
or
Better tank in general?
Making Tulips available will make Cromwells gone. As Sherman will be all in one unit + Commandos.
I'm not sure why 75 Sherman in RAF need anything honestly saying.
For HE u have Cromwell currently. If needed better armored tank (with AP round 75sherman is capable unit imo) - Get sherman + SAS against infantry.
Other doc's have something special wth Sherman exactly cause they are not RAF.
Imo, problem is not in this anymore, but the Usability of planes in general now. I can't elaborate on this much, but denying enemies AA is not always a case of perfect game, as most of the games are won by those, who get Arty first to prevent you from anything.
Funny as is, I'd return arty cromwell to the RAF for the sake of overall balance against AA's. I know there is 75mm howie available, but still.
Tulips are just cancer and no solution to anything. Please no to 1click shit. It is, mainly used to Imobilize heavy tanks..again, to get better chances with planes, or arty.

Re: 75mm Sherman in RAF
Tulips were nerfed, now the range is just 75 (as much as an AT gun) they used to have 120 range.. so definitely not as cancerous as they used to be.
I could agree that RE has a lot of things already and Tulips just add to the over-load in that doctrine... As i also feel like Tulips would fit more for RAF doc instead.
RAF doesn't lack anything too serious.. the 75mm Howitzers can get rid of most Axis emplacements, but in late game... Specifically 3v3s & 4v4s when AA is everywhere; it becomes a bit too challenging to counter Axis armor.
I think Tulips would help RAF doc in this scenario.
As for the 95mm Cromwell, i don't mind if it was brought back.. but without the flank speed ability, as it would be too much for such an effective arty unit.
