Can't lower graphic settings

Hello,

for a long time now I had problems with the abillity to set my graphic options on lower settings.
If I did so the result usually was a long time to get the setting change, followed by an exremely low framerate both in the main menu and a chosen game itself.

the only solution to get rid of the problem then is to delete the configuration file in the documents folder.

The game then does work well on most of the stock settings, but Resolution and AA seems to be interchangeable.

So far the problem also seem's to be related to newer versions of BKM, or perhaps the steam variant of it?
Because I do not remember those problems being present in the (I guess) 4.8.6 manual version of BKM.



And while we are already at it:
How would I idealy chose the settings right to begin with?

I'm running the game with an I5-2500K @4,6GHz at the moment, which is of course the limiting part due to the game being single core.

So which settings do stress the CPU the most?

You should grab the steam version mate, the version you have is obsolete now.
If i remember correctly, the whole COH complete edition is at 24€, sometimes you can get the game at -75% on steam.

If you have a legal copy of CoH then you can just put the license number into the Steam and you will have the game available without any payment (you've paid for it already). At least I think that is how it works.

Even if you don't plan to play over Steam, you can do it to see if your problem will still be there with the Steam version. If the problem disapears, the cause is somewhere in your non-steam game. If the problem is still there, you can rule out that factor and focus on other options.

I'm using the steamversion of COH with standard and Opposing Fronts.
With standard beeing installed first following Opposing fronts and then BKM also in steam edition.

I just mentioned that the problem was not present in the earlier versions of the Mod.

Where is located your games files in your PC?

On a Windows seperated partition located on my SSD.
Other than that it does use the Standard Steamfolder.

Thats why, try to have steam AND coh in the same SSD, your problem will be fixed.
