Re: Link collection
Ive found a new page:) Listed in first post but i will do it again: http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/ ... june-1945/
very interesting:
thats interesting regarding to "Panther vs tiger armor".
very interesting:
"This happens because US APC ammo is designed to hit vertical plate. Which means most penetration values will likely be higher than what the equations will give. APC also tends to lose penetration potential more quickly against angled plate than uncapped ammo. Uncapped ammo, of course has a much higher chance to deflect though. "

Sure and previously the T34.
Panther was built copying the T34 angled armour, wehrmacht got a bad surprise when they appeared on the battleground.

there is a debatte who used slopped armor first. Russians or germans. Axis had slopped armor on vehicles, later russians on tanks and then axis on tanks. So nobody knows who really created it. But that Panther is based on t-34 is true so far. If those took it from axis vehicles.... idk.
but t-34 was a big threat and so stugs and Tank IV´s (and tank III´s) got longer barreld guns.

Re: Link collection
I extended my list by a few links over the past months. Just thought i bring it up again for people that are interested. And if anyone has other cool links with solid informations etc just post them here if you want.
All of them are interesting to read and maybe giving many answeres to some historical discussions here in the forum like to those never ending disucssions about "Tank (x) couldnt be penetrated by weapon (y) at that range (z)" and the like. How tricky it is to give a clear answer how good or bad a tank/weapon becomes obvious when you read some of the long walls of texts rather than some theoretical "hard values" on short (theory) tables.
BHN values, FHA/RHA, overmatiching, angles, special shell flight behaviour (at a given flight distance) do matter here.
Enjoy.
