i really want to see 2 johnson against 6 stgs,2 mg42. Well...i want to see as will be.

Well... if you go one on one and your 101st has 2 Johnsons and oponent's squad has 6 STGs then he will rip you apart...if you allow them to get close. 101st are something between elites and normal infantry so you should not be able to take on squads one on one....at least not with the style "I'll place my 101st here in the cover and see how the fight will end up". Also with 2 BARs you now get the supression fire ability which will make it harder for opponent to get close with STGs.

fg42 is a support weapon like mg42

I am no history expert and even less in weapon sector, but is that really true? I mean these weapons were considered to be really good but there were only about 7 000 of them made so I guess they were distributed among the soldiers in low numbers per squad but if there were enough of them, wouldn't more soldiers get equipped with them, so it wouldn't be considered supportive anymore? I repeat - I don't know this for sure it is just my assumption.

Erich... Why r u comparing the AB 101st inf squads with the Fallschirmjägers?? They are not from the same category anyhow!! 101st AB are even a lot cheaper.. also, u could compare between Falls and SAS Commandos or 82nd AB but not with 101st.

More likely u should be able to face only Grens and Volks with 101 squads but nothing more.

The Fallschirmjäger did need a mutipurpose weapon as not everthing could be dropped and the weapon drops did not always dropped in the same area as the soldiers which should get them (like HMG crew picks up K98 and the normal sildiers HMG´´s). That way they had one weapon for all duties and it was useable as MG with bipod, as sniper rifle, normal rifle and assault rifle. It was the first multipurpose weapon deployed but very rare such as Johnson (build FG42: 7000-7500. Johonson 41 LMG: arround 9000 but some of them deployed in pacfic.

mark if you dont know about weapons so google it. if i allow them to get close? they crush everything in every range.

Tiger,i am comparing the 101st with fallschrim because they both are paratroopers and have similar weapons,expert or not the johnson and fg42 are similar weapons.i'm saying why 101st cant get 6 johnson while fallschrim drop with 6 fg42??? You can't say the Johnson was produced in small numbers,fg42 was produced in small numbers too.


101st will turn be expensive riflemans,why i will choose AB while i can make rifleman with 2 bars like 101st? Dont tell me the AB still have the 82nd,they are worse than commandos.

Except for the fact that 101st can be deployed anywhere, reinforce anywhere, has AT for free, has more weapon upgrade choices and more abilities. Have different infanty type which makes them harder to hit while moving...

Dont tell me the AB still have the 82nd,they are worse than commandos.

Why? More HP, better weapons in pretty much every aspect, still free ATs...

And I simply listed a few things which give to the 101st an edge over a Riflemen squad. If you were only speaking about anti-infantry capabalities you should have mentioned that somewhere.
If your coment was aimed at 82nd with AT, well, you still can leave the weaponry for a 101st squad as many people do. However it is something that comes with them for free which is an undeniable benefit.

Well i think you got my point,If nothing will change we don't need be discussing.

Yeah, I guess we can see each other's standpoint so no need to continue this discussion.

The doctrine of the time if you get technical then is the K98K, MP38/40, and other weapons were support weapons to the MG42. It was all centered around that weapon. The FG42 both types were not for the army but the Luftwaffe and that is why there were so few made, but they were weapons way ahead of their time.

Performance wise the 101st is pretty much like a standard rifle men squad. This "Harder to hit while moving" makes actually only sense when having thompsons and short range weapons so far. That they can be deployed everywhere and with two AT weapons for free is worth additional 150 mp so i think the 415 mp in next patch with better m1 carabines could be ok.



For the historical part and the fg42: The weapon was, as i said, a mulipurpose weapon to make parachute operations easier but the weapon was very expensive and from high quality and was decades ahead to other weapons. But after the bloody creta battle (which pushed the german military office to develope such a weapon) hitler denied further parachute missions behind enemie lines and the best german soliders got used or rather wasted in stupid defensive fights and so there was no more need for the fg42 and the stg44 was much cheaper to produce and enough for the later duties of german fallschirmjägers and so production got ceased after 7500 pieces. So the creta battle led to the development and production of a few fg42 but at the same time it was the weapons end.

When installing make sure that make desktop icon is ticked, as launcher has a new executable, you would be launching the old launcher with your previous icon.

To get back to previous patch, just reinstall 4.8.6.0.
