The movement modifiers would clash wouldn't they?

Well, yes, but I said that I set that for TESTING PURPOSES because this is easy for visual confirmation of wether the modifiers work or not. Final setup will be different and is not known yet ;)

We do not know for sure yet but we would like to release it as soon as possible...that means rather days than weeks.

To get back to the flamethrowers - what are your ideas of nerfs they should apply and for how long?

I think the crawling was fine to be honest... I know it's not really realistic if soldiers would be pinned on the ground in front of flames, since that anyone would try to quickly run away in such a situation.. but that's what the retreat button is already doing! Just that soldiers wouldn't run away unless you order them to do it.

But well; thinking of an alternative? Hmm... I am not really sure, don't have any ideas for now.

I think they should get a quite consistent nerf to reloading weapon time and to accuracy. This could simulate the problems caused to reloading and aiming by a scared person's shaking hands. Lasting for 2-3 seconds after getting hit(?).

In my opinion this would make engies/pios more useful in combat, expecially if combined with some other more combat focused unit, giving them more chances to survive a fight without making flamethrower too deadly (as it would be by giving nerfs to received accuracy or moving speed). So this would become more something to make enemy's infantry more innocuous than an infantry shredder.

P.S:
May i ask you guys if you made any change to RA smoke sector barrage ability?

I was thinking this too but to be honest if they get solid nerf to accuracy then reaload speed is kinda pointless because their damage will be low already but to close it to "reality"...why not...soldiers will die in the flames anyway if you don't move them, so it could be.

sgtToni95 wrote:In my opinion this would make engies/pios more useful in combat, expecially if combined with some other more combat focused unit
Well, I expect people to cry how "OP" it is after release but they are still engies/pios which means they are squishy as hell. Also if you cover your troops with HMG, engies/pios get suppressed in a second or you can lay some mines...there are options.

sgtToni95 wrote:May i ask you guys if you made any change to RA smoke sector barrage ability?
We did not. We implemented a new feature for RA dummy guns - whenever a real emplaced howitzer fires normal (or supercharged or VT) barrage, all dummy howitzers will be revealed to the opponent too along with the shooting animation etc. so it will be harder to say which of the howitzers is the real one and thus which should be counter-artied. Of course in some cases with a bit of deduction your opponent will be able to tell which are dummy and which are real but that is up to each player how they will use this feature.

No changes are planned for this ability for now.
EDIT: Well...maybe the smoke will come faster...in toni's suggestion it would be number 3).

Yes the no3 is the most logic, better to keep this action as a defense ability.

A little decrease in ammo cos? 100 is still a lot to consider it worth it imo. 85 could be little better, and the fact it decreases your own emps' accuracy, leaving them exposed to inf rush with granades, makes it a double edged defensive weapon. Add the fact RE is not really focused on building tanks, so it would be more a support to allies, and those you have are probably hidden achilles or arty tanks which are not usually the ones in danger.
I'm gonna see how it works like this in next patch, and maybe bring this topic up again in the future if needed.

I was actually just discussing this through PM.
And I must say the following;

@Devs
A final release straight away, without first having a quick 3rd beta.. can be quite too risky... There i have said it.
Do you remember what happened with v4.9.3 or not? For those who don't remember; 4.9.3 was officially supposed to be released as 4.9.0 but then the mistake was big enough that we had both 4.9.1 and 4.9.2 as failures; then finally v4.9.3 at the end! It was a terrible experience to be honest.

Please consider a 3rd beta before the official release...

Tiger I am getting pissed again...what are you expecting to achieve here? There will be a release and you will test it and then "approve" the final release and say everywhere that it is relatively bug-free because you tested? Truth is, that first beta was released on Novemnber 23rd 2016 - that is almost three months ago and there have been minimum reports of bugs. Is it because there are so few bugs? I would love to believe it but it is rather because almost nobody bothers with the beta and just wait for the final release. IF there was a "quick beta" do you really think you will hunt down majority of problems in SIX hours (this number you gave me in PM) while the community couldn't do it in 3 months? Hardly. Maybe you would find something, that would lead to another postpone, during which somebody will find something else and will postpone this forever. There was time for people to test the game and most (I say MOST not ALL) chose the "screw it, let's wait for final" approach. As people like to call for "community decisions" I would say there is also a "community responsibility".
So please stop your melodrama, it's getting annoying.

It's not a melodrama, take it easy.. it's just a request here... What's so bad about having a 3rd beta?? I don't get it.
What happened with v4.9.3 wasn't too far! Or?

It's not like I will be the one who "approves" that it's a bug-free version. But please bear in mind that there are always those players who test it verily enough! Being one of those beta testers who acknowledge every single update with extensive testing, then I am demanding a 3rd beta please... After all, it won't be good just for the community.. but it can be good also for you! Or are u willing to deal with hot fixes if any serious bugs were discovered upon the official release? Wouldn't this be too much after all this time waiting?! Already 3 months and you are risking to release a non-tested version??!! Why?

You see... Bugs come out of nowhere! And I tell you, there are those who beta-test the patches with a huge sense of interest... No doubt!

First of all your approach is FUBAR - you write me a PM, asking if there will beta3. I reply, saying no + give you reasons. You reply that you think there should be beta3. I tell you again why there won't be beta3 and then, when you see my standpoint will not change, you go to forum and make a melodramatic post about the need for 3rd beta and how HORRIBLE and whatnot was release of 4.9.0... so yeah, melodrama right there. Also it is same as if a kid comes to a parent, wants something, parent says "no" and so the kid goes to the other parent and tries to push it there.
You wrote to me, I said "no", normally you would write to Wolf and Pblitz to get approval from them, but Wolf doesn't reply to you and Pblitz has you probably still blocked so these options are closed to you and so you do what? Write a post about the exact same thing here hoping that people will agree with you and so we will have to do it as you want?
And anyway - why do we need another beta? If there is a serious problem then we will release 3.9.7 or something where we will fix it. If there is a final release, people will play it and we will get broader feedback. Beta proved to be pointless so there is no need for another one.

So, you are like the "parents" of the community? Interesting.
Yes.. the release of v4.9.0 was terrible, that's simply how it was... Everybody knows that!
And here, I am trying to avoid it happening once again... For your own comfort after all. But it looks like you are having difficulties to understand my viewpoint! For some reason.

Wolf rarely replies anyone.. not just me. And Pzblitz isn't blocking me btw! And he did reply me recently, quite often.

4.9.7? Well, so... You are actually willing to release hot fixes?
But why not to just play it safe in the first place??!! is releasing a hot fix easier than publishing a 3rd beta??!! o.O
Anyway, up to you then...

4.9.3 wasn't so horrible, there were much worse versions :D like months lasting (or maybe some year) beta 007 or 008 or what it was :p

No, there won't be another beta, next one will be full release.
Currently AGAIN very busy :/, if you need anything, please leave it for later, thx.

In my personal opinion, it's a good decision that you finally make it an official patch. Betas are cool, but's really hard to find people up for testing.. :/

@Tiger: You misunderstood the whole point.
Tiger1996 wrote:So, you are like the "parents" of the community? Interesting.
That was a general example of messed up behavior which is very similar to what you often do. No, we are not your parents of course.
Tiger1996 wrote:And here, I am trying to avoid it happening once again... For your own comfort after all. But it looks like you are having difficulties to understand my viewpoint! For some reason.
"For our comfort"? How exactely? we make beta3 - bug reports will come, we'll need to fix them. We make official release, bug reports will come, we'll need to fix them. It makes absolutely no difference if the fixed stuff gets released as "4.9.6. beta 3" or "4.9.6" or "4.9.7" it is just another release of the same stuff.
Wolf rarely replies anyone.. not just me. And Pzblitz isn't blocking me btw! And he did reply me recently, quite often.
Not relevant who replies to whom or not. Point was that you ask me, if I say "yes" you're happy. If I say "no", you go to other people to try to get your "yes" and thus bypass me. Why don't you go to Wolf right away if you don't settle with the answer I give you?
Tiger1996 wrote:4.9.7? Well, so... You are actually willing to release hot fixes?
Have we ever said there will be no further patches or why do you sound so surprised?
Tiger1996 wrote:But why not to just play it safe in the first place??!! is releasing a hot fix easier than publishing a 3rd beta??!! o.O
Because if we "play it safe" will NEVER get rid of the word "beta". Somebody will report a problem, we will work on a fix. By the time we fix it there will have been another two bug reports so we will work further on fixing them and it drag like this forever.

So as Wolf said - there won't be another beta. If there are problems, we'll fix them in another patch.
