Rework Update and Roadmap

Postby kwok » 06 Nov 2019, 17:58

Hi All,

Thank you for being patient as we go through the doctrine reworks. We have made so many changes so far and some of you are wondering how much more until we can start moving the changes into the live version.

We just finished structural changes for US and WM and will now start moving into CW and PE. This doesn't mean we will stop making changes to US and WM; we know there's still a lot of ideas brought up by you all and there will be a lot of balancing to do. But if we keep cycling on US and WM, it will take us another year just to finish up reworks. Balances will have to come again once we finish CW/PE, so we won't waste time trying to get US/WM perfect.

CW Reworks
We haven't solidified the faction reworks yet, but you can stay up to date on discussions and potential updates here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3242

Luftwaffe
There was a long time coming change to Luftwaffe. While it is already well-rounded, a lot of changes needed to be made in order for it to enable other doctrines that match up against it be less linear. Here's a sneak preview on what luft MIGHT look like.

Royal Artillery
Through reworks we notice some doctrines are specifically designed in contrast to our "balanced for 1v1" philosophy. One of those doctrines is Royal Artillery. We went through a couple of ideas and we feel one might go towards is introducing Canadian Infantry to Royal Artillery. How much we rework the doctrine is still in discussion but we are open to ideas. For now, here's a draft of an idea we are going with:

RAF, RE, Scorched Earth
We don't expect too many changes on these doctrines as they already have capabilities to hold up in 1v1s.

Tank Hunter
This doctrine is thematically designed to counter doctrines so we expect that this will get a major rework. We are open to ideas on how this can be redesigned.
