US AB MG drop sometimes drops with just 2 guys.
You have to reinforce to get the actual HMG guy.

Hard to fix when the only lead is "sometimes". Have you noticed any way to replicate it?

In my experience, incomplete air drops happen when then ability is cancelled, for example by a move order.
It was possible to do with parachuted AT guns.
