[5.1.5] PIV/48 TD not firing main cannon

Okay, so, this can't be a proper bug report because the event is hard to capture.
I'm writing to say something seemingly odd happened, and so if other people also start sayng similar stuff, then maybe there is something there.
I had a pair of PE TDs, the PIV/48s. Both with commanders.
There's a single Sherman, 76mm I'd say, it's damaged, immoblized I think too, being repaired.
I roll them up to it. I can see the Sherman.
They don't fire. Sherman shoots both of them twice, they both die.
Sherman shooting two tanks twice takes a while.
I'm sitting there waiting for them to fire...
