cancel production while paused = no mp refund, sometimes

Playing skirmish us vs wehr expert AI. Was building rifle squad at forward hq, paused the game, choose airborne as doctrine (cant choose any skills while paused), cancelled rifle squad since i was planning to unpause, choose airborne skill, then summon paratroopers instead. While paused, when I cancelling rifle squad I saw my MP get refunded, however soon as I unpaused it all disappeared. And of course this allowed me to lose. Also pretty new to this mod, but i checkd the replay and the mp vanishes into thin air. Or maybe this is what i get for not playing as the 3rd reich
