Us Inf mortar

Hello peeps,

been playing lately. and noticed this weird bug??
Every amerinca docterine can produce mortars EXCEPT the infantry doc.
i mean mortar teams are infantry... is this a bug or what???

I just tested, infantry doctrine can deploy 81mm mortar teams normally in my game... Maybe something is wrong with ur game?

hmm let me correct my own topic.
What i meant was that at game start us INF doc cannot produce mortar teams.
It will need the weapons support center upgrade.
However that is not neccesary with the rest of the docterines.

This can be ommited by first building the mortar teams and then choosing the docterine though (which is really stupid)

Note that the mortar available for Armor and AB is 60mm one. It's smaller and has less range and damage. Whereas you pick inf doc you can field only the big 80mm one, which is similar with axis 81mm granatenwerfer (and also requires tiering up just like axis one).

To sum it up: Non-doc, AB and Armor have smaller 60mm mortar but available without base upgrade. Inf doc has bigger 80mm mortar that requires tiering up just like axis.

Inf doc mortar switches to 80mm when you chose your doc. I think if you don't pick doc early you can still do 60mm.
One annoying thing is that if you choose your doc while barracks are deploying mortar team they're gonna stuck the queue and won't let it out unless you remove it manually and build the 80 mm one.
80 mm has wider range and bigger explosion, comparable to axis ones.. i think that's why weapon support center is needed before building it.

So yes, if that's really what u meant.. then everything is good and justified ^^ inf doc needs WSC obviously because it's an 81mm mortar...

I was under the impression all mortars were to be locked until the weapon support center was built as the weakest CW 2" mortar is locked until the field support truck is called

Actually cw 2 inch mortar is my fav. It can camo and happens to kill whole squads with 1 blast if hits well. Don't u dare to insult that little badass .

Just got 1 vet 3 today lol
It's unlocked together with recce tho, not before inf support truck.
Only problem is with its range it can't even outrange a flak to destroy it, but can smoke so still great toy
