A mate of my is studying law. We discussed the "propaganda doctrine" from Ruhrpottpatriot who said that he dosnt allow "his ideas" being introduced in BK.

My mate said that he has actually no right to do this. For example in case we would add the "Ostfront veterans" it wouldnt hurt any "artists" right as the "Ostfront Veterans" are not an idea but rather something that simply once existed in reality. Same for other units.

So actually you can use doctrines and maps as basis and when you change some tec trees or some walls and streets etc on the map then nobody can say that it is an "illegal copy".

Also there are no financial gains and the creators have not applied an patent or anything.

And honestly.... who would go to the court for such things?:D
These guys made maps public and free for everybody.

Yea, Imo, you can mess with most of CoH/Bk stuff with no consequences, as long as you mention the owners/creators/editors etc. somewhere...

Well, in Relicnews forum, I got an answer.

There also people state that the map was a relic original map and the "creator" simply compiled it to be playable. Therefore I'll try to change it.

But there's still a problem.
I unpacked the .sga file, but everytime I try to open it, the world builder says "Can't find global.toolsdata setting in pipeline.ini".

I need to find a solution for that one, but this and next week I'll be very busy and I won't have time. The week after next week, I'll have plenty of time again, and therefore have a deeper look into it.

Reviving this topic as time gets closer to a new patch? Maybe we can really try to make this idea work this time?

is the idea shortly about adding larger maps? If yes; then what are ur map recommendations? You only provided 2 ones until now... And honestly I liked them so much.. specifically the one called blija. But u said several times that u still have more! Now I guess you really need to share them as soon as possible, those maps should be available for everyone to try out first...

Yeah, I know I just said:
one never knows when some crazy-ass bastard starts to press charges for violation of author's rights
The chance of that happening is low but you cannot rule it out. ;)

He cant even sue you for changing or editing something like that when you make the edit as a anonimous, and even more since you're not making money out of it.
