Talk about CoH1 or BKMOD1 in general.

Which programm to use for new models?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of teaching myself how to build new models for coh in order to give the mods more possibilities in adding new units/weapons.

Does anyone know which programm or tool is used for that?

Ok so it appears that you can use ANY 3D modelling software.

Recommended is 3DstudioMax, but this costs 120$ :P

Anybody knows a FREE 3D studio software?

Yeah just saw that there's a free version of it for students (what I am^^), so I'll gibe 3dmax a try as it's recommended by most modders ;)

So for anyone also interested in this topic:

You can only use 3ds max 7 or 8. All mods and programms to convert these files into the coh doctype are only programmed for this 3d studio!

Also it won't work with the newer versions like 3dsmax 2015 or 2016. So yeah, you basically need this 7 year old programm, luckily I found a download link for it, so let's see^^
