US/WM Transport Halftrack MG upgrade

Hi, there is an idea for a change for US and WM.
The transport Halftracks of these factions come without gunners and the MGs become active only when you place some soldiers inside. The idea is that there would be ann upgrade for these units to get the gunners active permanently. Cost of the upgrade is not decided yet but it would be most likely somewhere around 30 ammo. This would allow the HTs to work actively as firesupport for your infantry rather than just a transport and reinforcement point.
If you don't get the upgrade, the MG will still be active when soldiers are loaded inside.

This would also allow for the M2 to come back as an reward option. Compared to M3 the M2 would:
- be cheaper
- be a bit faster (6.44 for M2 vs 6.3 for M3)
- be able to transport less troops
- have the canopy always on so the soldiers would not be able to shoot from inside
- have the MG upgrade cheaper
So the M3 would be more expensive, and have the firepower advantage when you combine firepower of loaded soldiers + .50cal while M2's only firepower would come from the .50cal which would be possible to upgrade for lower price and thus get it sooner.

Would you be interested in this option?

Sure, Like it. What about PE? Keeps as it is?

There the removal could make the HT cheaper and a viable option for the PE early game in conjunction with Pgrens.

The PE transport Halftrack comes with manned MG rightaway, or not? :? At least because of that there was no change planned for it.

If the return of the M2 US half-track, will somehow fix the glitch of invisible troops inside the M3 US half-track... Then I'm all up for it.
Specifically if you are going to avoid the same glitch from appearing on the M2 by making the canopy permanent.. ya, I figured what u r trying to do :P

yes, they are. But it makes this HT so expensive that nobody uses it. If we make it purchasable as well then people might start using it when they dont have to spend 300 MP but instead just like 240 MP or so. I think its costs 300 MP bc of this MG. The rear gunner deploys when troops inside only.

@Tiger: The M2 does not need to return in order to fix the M3. The M2 does not show loaded infantry simply because the author of the model did not implement the animation, thus the model does not support it and so there is nothing to "fix". But why not use the model when we have it? If someone cannot live without troops shooting while loaded, they can use the M3 - it is reward unit so it is everybody's choice.

@Hawks: If there is a price issue with this unit then the price could simply be dropped and the HT could stay as it is. PE is meant to use their HTs more than other factions so a little advantage in this should not be a huge problem. Even more so if the .50cals will receive some buff (and I said IF, so it does not mean it will happen; just saying so that nobody can misinterpret it).

Ah, so I guess from that I can understand that you actually found a fix to the M3 half-track that is not related to the return of the M2 anyhow...
Well, that's great news then! And yes; I think M2 model can be still used, even without troops shooting from inside.. specifically as long as the canopy is being always installed.. so it is visually persuading for anyone who looks at it, thus I agree.

UPDATE: After seeing the animations available to the M2A1 I discovered that it does not have animation for the canopy at all so it makes no sense to reintroduce it to the game. Thus the permanen MG upgrade would only be for M3 and WM halftrack.
