AI slowing down the game

Holla,

Im surprised no one else has yet complained about it. I cant even remember when it startet, I even believe this is since Im playing Bk mod (Im not having this issue in Vanilla). As soon as AI enters the game, FPS are dropping significantly and further decreasing over time. Playing Comp stomp with more than 2-3 AI's is almost always unplayble after 20-30 minutes.

A majority of players dont seem to suffer the issue. Changing graphic settings and reinstallations dont help. My hardware would be capable enough to play the game twice...

Hope you can help, since this pretty much ruins the game for me every time I cant find 5-7 other human players.

There is a bit of an explanation. The game has to keep track of more than just what the AI is doing, stuff like building damage, and terrain deformation from explosions are something it has to process as well, smoke, debris, vehicle husks all add to the strain on the computer.

This doesn't present too much problem against other people because the computer doesn't have to deal with AI, but eventually, long games will start to lag as well, due to all the destruction the engine has to keep track of, there's also the fact the AI in BKmod is more complex than in vCoH.

additionally it depends on the map. some maps have very poor pathfinding where AI just bottlenecks, this will cause significant slowdown. if you arty the bottleneck and clear it up, usually the game will speed up again. if that doesn't work, lower pop cap or play other maps.

You miss my point: the game is lagging on MY pc, and my pc only. not on others. I know the maps, duration of the match and number of units matters, but the game works for others while it lags horribly for me.
Even when I play with other people there are always some für whom the game runs perfect, while at the same my units start to ignore orders.

This looks to me like a user-/hardwarespecific problem and not a general game mechanics problem.

maybe your cpu is the bottleneck. I had similar issues until i upgraded my cpu. bk is a hungrier beast than vcoh
