M8 Greyhound, Stuart, chaffe, M15 A1 cost

Post by Warhawks97 »

Does anyone else things these units cost a lot for what they bring?

Greyhound:
Basically a naked car with a 37 mm gun that has no abilties.
Cal 50 costs a global upgrade and then on each vehicle. Skirts just add to the list. So, the first Greyhound costs 330/30+ 100/50 for the cal 50 unlock+ i think about 70 or more ammo for the MG and skirts.
With tank depot upgrade cost drops to about 300 MP.

The base cost isnt worth more than 300 MP and 25 fuel or so. Later it could cost arround 270/20. It still needs upgrades to be really usefull.
Compare this to the M20 with its 275 MP and 15 fuel that can also detect hidden units.

Thats a lot for a mid tier unit that still gets killed by HMG AP rounds and pretty much all AT on the field, from rifles to 37 mm and bigger.

M15A1:
Pain to use and costs 375/30. Later 345 MP. But it requires tons of micro. Would drop its default cost to 345/30. Given the fact how easy it became to field 20 mm cars on axis side as AA defense, it would just be fair to make the only available AA for armor doc a bit cheaper. Figthing ground targets is just a nightmare with this thing.

Stuart Tank:
Everything is poor. Its armor, gun, HP. It also takes more damage from AT guns since its labled a tank and not as vehicle. With skirts the Greyhound has a higher chance to survive a Pak 38 shot than the Stuart. Just a poor unit. 300 MP would be enough for that little thing.

Chaffe:
Costs you 400 MP and 35 fuel. Thats what many tanks cost. Later it gets a bit cheaper. Its base cost should be reduced.

These 4 units are basically dead units. I barely see anyone using them and if they dont fare so well. Exception greyhound after having spend tons of additional res.
Build more AA Walderschmidt
