I would say that "reinforcing in combat" should be mainly the field of paratroopers who can do it without the need for any extra units, it is also available in a few doctrines that have the reinforcing tanks but those are doctrines that don't have access to any strong infantry. Thinking of this, wouldn't it be better if halftracks got an upgrade option that would turn them into a retreat point? The "mobile base" playstyle makes CW unique. We also experimented with giving CW normal HQs but it pretty much broke the whole CW AI. BK is a multiplayer mod but people still play compstomp too and disabling an entire faction for pretty much no reason, is not desirable.

The CoH 1 engine handles callins poorly and in multiplayer games, callins often cause desyncs. Or at least we have reports that games with a lot of callin units desyc more often than games with only a few or no callins at all. So no, we're not gonna do this one.

What does it mean? The HT would be static but infantry could use the "Reinforce" button fartrher away from it?

But do you need infantry with minesweepers when your Kettens and Schwimms can detect mines? They don't even need any upgrade to reveal mines. Kettens and Schwimms can capture points in early game pretty quickly so you will most likely get at least one just for the fast teritorry grab. Why not use it...

Technically, it should be possible to do, although it would require free UI slots in 101st and 82nd ability panels (which I'm not sure they have) + it would be even more micro heavy to put this sort of setting on each individual unit.
