Yeah I agree with you. All of the manual ambush abilities on infantry units should be removed from the game in my honest opinion. It would reduce the amount of required babysitting a lot. Just want to add that american 60mm and german 80mm mortar have the same issue as airborne one. Their creeping barrage is also for free with very short cooldown.

Grenade volley sometimes doesn't work when using hold ground ability. They also have to "run arround/get closer" first. At least I gave up using hold ground for of these abilities to prevent wasting ammo for nothing. So I would say yes to that question. Grenade volley works even when you ...

We will check it, it is possible that the ability forces the soldier to come closer than they should. Do you have same problem with the Grenade volley of Storms? - US/Armor Doc: Jeep with the 75mm M20 recoilless rifle have same exact description as regular .30 cal Jeep which states that it excels at hunting down enemy snipers. This is obviously not true.

Yeah I think there was intent to make it as you mentioned, it's just really hard to balance due to the nature of the weapon. Unlike other weapons in coh where damage is done per bullet/shell/etc with cooldown times, flamethrowers are like mega weapons where their cooldowns are fractions of fraction...
