Wikinger Mod for COH2 is a great substitute for BK2 while you wait, same doctrines (plus soviets).
No commanders and all the benefits of COH2, truesight, coldtech and most importantly online stability.
Check it out, just released a new patch focused on realistic tank combat:

Re: Back to BK
Cant speak for BK1 as I stopped playing due to constant desyncs Here is the situation with Blitzkrieg 2: Wolf got as far as doing the camera zoom out and popcaps but has stopped all modding due to real life commitments: m A couple of ex BK players/modders have started their own COH2 mods in the mean...

Re: Bkmod2 vs Speargead mod
Hi guys, maybe you should try this: Wikinger: European Theater of War mod for CoH 2 m Really enjoying this mod, has made COH2 actually playable when combined with BKMOD2 Win Condition for the extra zoom out and pop cap. It is very much styled like original Blitzkrieg Mod but with all the added bene...

Re: Are mortars basebombing?
Haha yeah... I want to get down to the simplest rule possible... But even saying "no basebombing completely" is tricky. Just shown in the poll, some people say mortars count, most say they don't. It's like taking a poll among cats. Everyone just does their own thing. And I'm going to try ...

Re: CoH2 Patch June 23rd
Thanks for the update Wolf, its great that you are still working on this.
IMO we wont see full mod tools until they have milked every last drop out of Vanilla COH2 which according to their roadmap will be after a new faction (British?) is released.

Re: Comp stomp games de-synching on v4.8.6.0
Its a common problem that showed up after the last VCOH patch, Wolf bought it to Relics attention in the official forums but they never replied: m You could try PM'ing one of their Community Managers (Noun has since left btw) but I honestly don't think they will do anything if it is only affecting M...

Western front Armies is standalone but you may as well get COH2 as well it's so cheap.

No you didnt
Does the US 37 currently fire with one man? I was confused as to why it would be in the changelog then?

Re: AT Guns with 1 man left
So everyone voted yes it should be able to fire but in the changelog we have:
- US 37mm AT gun will not be able to shoot or be movable when only 1 man crew is left
@Wolf was this just not codable maybe??

Re: Suggestions for new maps to the mappack
I cant think of any maps off the top of my head but I know who some of the good mapmakers are. UKVaultman, Playmobil & Gorkhali are 3 that come to mind who make superb maps. Their details should still be on the old forum and they were all active fairly recently too

Re: AT Guns with 1 man left
My opinion: Yes it should be able to fire, but very slow reload and cant rotate the gun at all. And as Wake said should be easier to kill.

Re: "other ways"
I feel for you Warhawks because I too have a grand vision of breaking through the axis lines with 8 Shermans and wreaking havoc in their rear areas but as the game stands this just isn't possible for many reasons. I think you are literally asking too much of the Dev team which consists of one guy wh...

Re: What mechanics or stuff you would like to keep from BK?
I find the COH2 medic/healing system for some factions quite clunky and causing unnecessary micro. If we could use the BK1 system that would be preferable for me.

Re: What mechanics or stuff you would like to keep from CoH2
Hi Wolf, for me I think the mechanic used to lay a proper anti personnel minefield in coh2 is vastly superior to coh1. If this could be extended to AT mines as well (possibly in smaller groups or rows) that would be awesome.

Even with the big mistakes made by the german oberkommando the war was doomed. Even if germans rushed to Moscow and it has failed Russians wouldn't surrender the results would have been the same - severe skirmishes on every street and german tanks that are stuck during the winter, even if germany p...

Re: Historical backgrounds to Tigers topic "axis & allied ta
Another mistake was done in Airplane production. Axis rather wasted ressources into heavy flak batteries and the ammo instead into more figthers and just 1% of all flak shots caused critical damage and thus shooting down the airplane. If The Axis would have invested it into airplanes their Figher p...
