This is one of the signs you had a desync. It is not related to desynch. What is described usually happen when game start. Even player units move without orders, player have still control and can build buildings units mines, upgrade, and even give counter orders to wandering units. I have suspicion...

There is incorrect sound at BK, but usually most players prefer it to realistics/historical ones.

For what I experienced I can confirm pines trees have a bad influence on game performance. Replacing it by generic trees, scrubs, rocks or rubbles increase fps. yes, at that time it was FW 190 and Me109 for bombing run. ME109 was removed in order BK stay a clean mod. Actual ME 109 model is not the same than the old MoW one.

Most of laggy maps you speak about share fact to have a load of single destructible pines. Single pines are animated vegetation (they swing in the wind).
