Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

BlitzHalftruck. what? For me it was core unit. In all long lasting games that couldnt be finished with tank IV´s, this thing was a must have, let alone for the storm leader squad. Upgrades for Storms are unlikeble to go for early. few require HQ upgrade first but generally they get bought, perhaps ...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

When i reminded about Pz3 for reworked Blitz doc, i was thinking of something cheaper and/or easier accessable (maybe even from T2), to counter m8/stand 37-57mm atguns and support infantry, BUT with potential of future, if that is even needed, upgrades for gun and armor plate. There have been many ...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

I am not talking to you in an "ironic haha tone" and my argument is not weak, we were talking about BK dock call in. I will cite your words: "What's the issue of PZ3 being potentially weaker to Sherman, either 75 or 76? Thats my point, too. Thing is BK doesnt have its own Panzer III ...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

The puma and the panzer 3 in real was deadly versus shermans at close range and side shots, we can use his great speed and mobility in bk, after frontally its more tricky for them for sure. We dont need to use speed and side shots. A Tank that has Panzer IV armor and Pak 38 pen values can easily fi...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

Of course the 50mm L60 will beat a sherman, BUT, the sherman will have more survability at long term. You are refering to BK mod gameplay or reality? In reality it wasnt the case. When the sherman saw first combat in oktober 42, the production of the L model already ceased. the last few with 50 mm ...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

The kwk L60 50mm of the panzer III is superior to the 75mm chaffe/M4 gun, it has also excellent mobilty with 80mm of frontal armor, so it is not « that bad »... No chance vs any medium tanks. If the Tank III with 50 mm gun gets the stats of the pak 38 (which is likely) and Panzer IV armor, the Tank...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

Panzer III L Gun was excellent for its time, in North Africa according allies report, the Panzer III L was highly destructive on any allies tanks at long range, including the Matilda frontal armor. The Panzer III had reach its own gun limits in Russia for sure largely depending on sources. The T34 ...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

@Mofeta: PE uses the last Pz III model which got the stubby 75 mm gun the Tank IV D/E/F1 had. That was bc these two tanks switched roles in 42/43. The PZ III couldnt fit the long 75 mm gun and the 50 mm L/60 was actually outdated and couldnt beat sherman frontal armor, churchills and others (In BK t...

Re: 37 mm Gun fixes

Which unit/weapon/version of the 37mm should all be standardized to? mix of stuart Greyhound i would say. 37 mm AT is wrong bc its AP rounds are usless while rear hits always pen. Greyhound bounces too often from sdkfz 234. Staghounds is well, just its too good vs tank IV front armor. The rear pen ...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

For armor doc re-work: I think if something needs to be changed it should be the commander artillery ability for light vehicles. Stuarts/Chaffees should get a mortar barrage ability (like airborne infantry) that has a bit more range / is cheaper / and is on a separate cooldown to normal tank artill...

Re: Airborne 37mm M3, and a few other changes.

That debate made me thinking about AB doc as a whole. Few questions and thoughts here: 1. Why AP bullets for plane are still an upgrade? Axis strafe has the 20 mm gun right away killing vehicles. The cal 50 in airplanes always used AP and API rounds as default rounds. 2. Many use recon planes as dis...

Re: Airborne 37mm M3, and a few other changes.

Ah, yeah, something i wanted to write about. I think having an airdropped 76 mm AT gun is about pointless, at least when fighting behind enemie lines and urban areas. I would also prefer 37 mm M3 and 57 mm M1 guns instead of 76 mm gun which lacks mobility and which is hard to recrew soaking up 5 men...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

i honestly feel like have the panzer 4 be at least 3CP for an unlock and the panther at least 6CP is helpful to the game. the game felt less about teching up as fast as possible and it put some weight into unlocking units per situation. This really did open up a lot more units on the field, the mid...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

and from the 5 ideas about the ap unlock. i recommend you choose to make maultier cost command points. Maultier and HE rounds as unlock are my favorits. HE rounds in the tank IV mass prod line so that stubby tank IV´s would really become usefull in an early game along with stug III´s which consume ...

Re: US Healing cost

Medics available in barracks + Triage center can still heal and collect wounded I dont get it. Its always preferable to have mobile heal+reinforce (medic+HT) over fixed expensive squishy buldings that only heal (and collect wounded is more or less usless now or not an argument as the building gets ...

Re: US Healing cost

I think PE was given these easier ways to heal their soldiers because they don't have the "wounded collecting" feature so to compensate for no "free" squads, they got more ways to heal the living dudes. This was still not too good compensation back in time when 6 collected soldi...

US Healing cost

I was thinking about US healing capabilties recently. To put it simple: I think they are too expensive. 300 MP for a triage center is a huge ammount, esspecially early game. And since triage centers now require 18 men to be collected before spawning a new squad, this can no longer be considered as a...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

It was my idea to have the call in early at 2CP and P4 to be 4CP. The original reason was with the new command tank P4s would be too strong too early and immediately rushed every game. I still fear this. The overall intent, not just for the doctrine rework, is to have a place for early to mid tier ...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

About booby traps In my opinion I’m inclined to say no to booby traps as the doctrine is originally designed to reward aggression and booby traps doesn’t quite fit that bill. If anything it belongs in defensive doctrine (but that doesn’t mean it will make an appearance there). It isn’t that necessa...

AT squad The adjustment this patch was still experimental. We knew in advance it’ll take a few more tries to make it work. Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

37mm has camouflage and anti infantry shoot, and you know you can't compare them because 1 is an AT gun and the other AT squad and may be to weak to face a CW race or other 50mm cal now I think. Lol, ok..... Devs apparently thought they could and gave AT gun damage and accuracy to an rifle. Now its...

Re: 5.1.8 beta (Blitzkrieg doctrine rework)

- About the Stupa, Stuh and Scott. I still don't think that their range is any problematic.. if there is any problem, then it's more of how their shells actually behave. The shells are probably too fast, the shells should have longer travel time. Performing more of a "loop" shot just like...
