Anyway you can do this sort of tests without Corsix but you will need the World Builder (map creator - part of the game). You will need to make a test map. In the world builder you can add units on the map that are neutral (or assign them to player). So when you add a neutral units they don't react...

I think the problem is not the dimension of the map affecting nebel range potential, i'd rather say, as i already mentioned, it's the frontline width. So you're talking about 17 pounder the AT gun dragged by soldiers (or emplacement?), not 17 pounders mounted on Firefly, Achilles or Comet, right?
